Indy 500 1973. Al Unser, Sr. won for the second consecutive year, dominating most of the race. It turned out to be a race that many would end up wishing they could forget.
Three competitors – two drivers and one pit crew member – were killed during the month as a result of accidents, and another driver was critically injured.
